Planning to Visit Us? PDF Print E-mail
Hi, I'm Steve Jackson, Senior Pastor at Faith Community Church. On behalf of everyone here, I want to welcome you, and let you know how much we look forward to your visit.

We all know how unnerving it can be to walk into a new place full of strangers, because we were all visitors here once. It's our hope that FCC and its people will soon become familiar to you, and this will be a comfortable place where you know you are among friends. To give you an idea of what to expect the first time you join us, we've put together some helpful information below.

When you do visit, be sure to introduce yourself. I look forward to greeting you in person.

God bless,

Steve Jackson

What are your services like?

We offer two services, at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. These services are identical, and last about 90 minutes.

We worship through a variety of music, from classic hymns, to praise ballads, to contemporary songs. We believe the Bible to be God's written word that can be applied to our lives, so teaching plays a central role in our worship service, and we dedicate a substantial portion of each service to hearing a message from one of our pastors or elders.

What can my kids expect?

Lively, engaging teachers who are excited about working with children. FCC features a dynamic children's program for kids 3-years-old through 6th grade. The volunteers in our nursery look after infants and toddlers from 0 to 2. Junior high and high school students are encouraged to attend one of our Growth Groups (our term for Sunday School), as well as the main Worship Service.

Do I need to wear a tie?

Not unless you want to. Although you will see people in suits, you'll find many more in shorts, jeans or whatever else they feel comfortable wearing. Come as you are and don't worry about your wardrobe.

Will I be able to find my way around?

Yes. Click here for a map of the church campus. And, when you visit, look for someone with a smiling face who is also wearing "Welcome" button that identifies them as a member of our Welcome Team. They will be happy to point you in the right direction.

What do you believe?

We've summarized the essential beliefs of Faith Community Church into the following statements.

Be believe:

  • The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
  • In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sin according to the Scriptures. Further, we believe that He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
  • That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and, during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
  • That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
  • That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus, become children of God.
  • That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
  • That the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head.
  • That only those who are, thus, members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
  • That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
  • In the personal, premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
  • In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

But I still have questions...
