I grew up in a Christian home, where faith was almost assumed. It was wonderful to see a true Christian walk from my parents and to learn so much about Jesus from a young age, but we all know it’s dangerous to feel like you’re “in” at the start… when the truth is that we all fall short of the glory of God and need to be born again by grace through faith. I don’t have a lightning-strike moment; I simply have the growth in faith through my life and learning to depend on Him more and more, making again the daily choice to submit my life to Him and work out my salvation with fear and trembling. I rest in what Christ has done for me, and thank Him that He called me even as a little child.
I attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I studied Art and English, with a minor in International Studies (having spent a year studying in Japan) and now work as a producer, with a background in animation but currently at a video game company. My hobbies include writing, drawing, comic books, anime, soccer, MMA.
I met Hollie in college, and somehow convinced her not only to marry me but to move out to California. We’ve got 3 kids: Lily is a reader and a goofball, Calvin’s imagination barely fits inside his head, and baby Elinora already does more cleaning than the other two combined.
Faith isn’t just our church, but our family, and I want to beef up our Welcome and Life Group ministries to make sure that everyone else who comes here feels the same. At the same time, by giving Local Outreach the same emphasis we currently give Global Outreach, I pray for the gospel to go forth into the community so the people coming to Faith would be those coming to Christ, not simply transferring from other churches.
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
